A new report says the city of Troy, New York could see a “significant uptick” in residential construction during the 2020s.
The study says the growth potential is “not limited to the city but encompasses the entire metropolitan area, including New York City and its surrounding communities.”
The report says there are “significant areas” of residential construction that are expected to take place during the next decade, including new developments and additions to existing neighborhoods.
For instance, it says there’s a “lone-tower development” planned for the area of the Riverdale-based Rivertown property that includes a large warehouse and warehouse warehouse complex.
The report also says that the city has the potential to “create more than 30,000 new residential units” and “significantly increase” employment and wages, as well as “create or maintain a strong downtown core.”
